cineSync 1.2.7 released
Monday, 07 April 2008
Today sees the release of cineSync 1.2.7, with a number of new features and improvements, including:
- You can now open a cineSync session that was saved on another machine. This means you can now send someone the saved session .xml file and provided they have the required media, they can review the session at a later time in another location. This can be especially useful in situations where timezones are less than conducive to live synchronised sessions...
- We now no longer assume that the duration of every frame in a clip is the same. While this is the case 99% of the time, some QuickTime encoders will vary the frame duration to achieve an average frame rate of 23.98/29.97 fps, which has in the past led to potential frame count issues on longer clips. cineSync now correctly calculates frame numbers without relying on QuickTime based assumptions (and thanks to Mike Morgan for his assistance on this issue :-)
- We now have support for displaying QuickTimes that have non-square pixels - that is compressed movies no longer appear "squished" in cineSync (Clean Aperture).
- There are a number of new shortcut keys for a variety of functions.
