5 Ninja Star Communication for Assassin
Wednesday, 02 December 2009
For the latest film from James McTeigue (V for Vendetta), VFX work was spread between a number of companies in North America and Europe. One of those European companies, Ghost in Denmark, spoke to Danish online magazine Kino.dk about the process of working on the film, including the use of cineSync to maintain communication.
Says Ghost Technical Director Esben Syberg:
"(The) challenge was communication ... as always! But this time it was a little different than when we would otherwise have worked on Hollywood films. We had a VFX supervisor (Chris Townsend), each Monday came directly from Los Angeles to provide comments, both from himself and James McTeigue (director).
Besides that we used cineSync to communicate with people on the other side of Earth. It is a super tool that ensures that all look at the same video clips on the same frame - both here in Copenhagen and Los Angeles.... and it is very, very smart! And everything will be saved so you can look at it again and again afterwards."
